Good afternoon!

I was hoping to get some direction with the proceedure to downloading firmware from the internet to the AR-DV1. I checked in the owners manual (online) and it's kind of vague.

I own and am familiar with the Uniden x336HP lineup and downloads are a snap, i.e. plug in usb cable press enter and download to usb mass storage sd card.

I don't want to make a mistake with the AOR and would appreciate any help!

Thank you.

Eric,

Thanks very much! I read the firmware instructions but still at a loss. If I understand this correctly, once you download the firmware, the AR-DV1 automatically downloads the file to the SD card? or, After download, extract the firmware file and copy to the root directory of the SD/SDHC card. If so, how is this accomplished?

Thanks for your patience.

You need to download the .zip file containing the firmware. You then need to unzip it and transfer the firmware file itself to the SD card. You'll need to be able to remove that card from the DV1 and insert it into the appropriate slot on your PC or laptop.

Once the file is transferred to the root folder of the SD card, return the card to the DV1 and follow the instructions from there. It's a very easy procedure.

Hopefully there will be a new version out either tomorrow or Friday. It's my understanding they've been coming weekly. I updated the demo model I'm trying without issue.

Thanks very much Scott! Very nervous with this receiver, a bit challanged by the complexity of this format. This definitely is no x36HP scanner.

Nothing wrong with being careful, no doubt. But as long as you follow the instructions it's really an easy update. It would be nicer to do it via USB, I agree, but this is relatively painless as long as you have the means to write to the SD card. Good luck!
