I've noticed that over the last several months, the local air refueling freqs have been very quiet. I've checked the current AP-1B and what I have is still good. Has there been a change in procedures? I am in central OK.

They can navigate radio silent. They can hook up with signal lights, after hooking up, they can communicate through the intercom in the boom.

I'm not in that area but looking at ADS-B Exchange over the last week and AR112 looks like it was in use almost everyday, and a lot of other tanker traffic in the area. Surprised you're not hearing much ? Can you usually hear the tankers out of Altus AFB when they are joining AR312 and AR400 ? Seems like they are used often. Sometimes up here in the northeast if 2 tankers are working together they will use their own A-A frequencies instead of the published AR ones, but it's rare.

Did you hear anything from the 3 Tankers out of Scott AFB working 112 about an hour ago ? 3 of them must have been pretty chatty. Now I'm curious why you are not hearing them. Do you try scanning the band when you see someone on it ?
Yes I did! Maybe Ive been scanning too many things and have just been missing it. I’ve got all the Oklahoma freqs loaded and have just been monitoring them as of yesterday.

Morning HogDriver,
A post close to my heart - I am a UK Firefighter attached at the US Airforce here in the UK and it happens to be a Tanker Base (100 ARW)
With regards to missing the action, I had exactly same issue - didn't really realise that I had so many frequencies programmed into my scanner that I kept missing stuff that others were hearing/posting , even with a super fast scanner !!
Had to do a bit of frequency housekeeping which actually worked out really profitable as all of a sudden I was hearing so much more with scan banks only being selected when needed e.g don't really need my scan bank number 3 switched on at an airbase when scan bank 3 was local taxi companies !!!
So you're definitely not alone- hope you get it sorted.
Kevin (USAF Mildenhall, England)
PS - If you are ever over here in the UK let me know & I can sort AR frequencies for this side of the pond.

Yesterday at around 1800z seems Bamboo Eagle 25-1 off Baja for massive exercise with RCAF,RAF,RAAF and USAF
offshore. A dozen tankers at least.. Can only imagine how many fighter jets were up.Wonder how they sort all those A/R freqs :)

If not already doing this if not may be time to start buying several older scanners and setting up dedicated scanners to different task to hear more. You could have 1 just for refueling frequencies and use others for other groups.
