I've noticed that over the last several months, the local air refueling freqs have been very quiet. I've checked the current AP-1B and what I have is still good. Has there been a change in procedures? I am in central OK.
They can navigate radio silent. They can hook up with signal lights, after hooking up, they can communicate through the intercom in the boom.I've noticed that over the last several months, the local air refueling freqs have been very quiet. I'm not in that area but looking at ADS-B Exchange over the last week and AR112 looks like it was in use almost everyday, and a lot of other tanker traffic in the area. Surprised you're not hearing much ? Can you usually hear the tankers out of Altus AFB when they are joining AR312 and AR400 ? Seems like they are used often. Sometimes up here in the northeast if 2 tankers are working together they will use their own A-A frequencies instead of the published AR ones, but it's rare.the local air refueling freqs have been very quiet.
Did you hear anything from the 3 Tankers out of Scott AFB working 112 about an hour ago ? 3 of them must have been pretty chatty. Now I'm curious why you are not hearing them. Do you try scanning the band when you see someone on it ?I have 112H/L, 313 and 669 programmed. I used to hear 112 all the time and 669 occasionally.
Yes I did! Maybe Ive been scanning too many things and have just been missing it. I’ve got all the Oklahoma freqs loaded and have just been monitoring them as of yesterday.Did you hear anything from the 3 Tankers out of Scott AFB working 112 about an hour ago ? 3 of them must have been pretty chatty.
