Hi all.
I recently purchased a used 5700D with the latest firmware which I find impressive even on my limited antenna setup.
My unit didn’t come with the AR-IQ-III software which I could purchase but like all things AOR it’s isn’t cheap.
I thought I might try using SDRsharp instead but I can’t seem to get it to connect.
I believe SDRsharp is installed correctly and I have downloaded the 5700D drivers folder from the AOR website but SDRsharp can’t see my 5700D at all. It seeems that I need to install the drivers somehow but can’t figure out how.
The receiver will work happily with the free ARL2300Local software and the Kmitocty software but SDRsharp can’t find it at all.
Any tips on how to get it working ?
I must admit I have limited knowledge/understanding of computers, I can do basic things but beyond that it’s all a bit of a mystery.
Thanks
Ian.

I tried AR-IQ-III, but do not use the program as it does not have some of the features of other SDR programs. You need to download and install the 32 bit version of SDRsharp revision 1921. The description mentions the download contains the IQ Driver, but it does not have it. You need to go to the AOR website and download the IQ Drivers. AOR Software | Download Area | Support | AOR,LTD. Authority On Radio Communications

See section 13 (page 41) in the manual for information on installing the driver. SDRSharp needs both the receiver control and I/Q data stream USB connections.

Hi Eric,
That’s brilliant, it worked straight away,
I just hadn’t twigged that it needed the IQ cable as well 🙄. RTFM properly I guess.

Tbh I don’t really intend to use it much with a PC, I still like manually tuning around and using the basic spectrum scope on the 5700D.

The fixed 3Khz bandwidth (actually more like 2.7Khz if you look at the specs) on SSB is a bit wide, odd they didn’t include a couple of narrower ones as well.
I stuck an FL-3 on the output and that really helps sometimes.

I’m even starting to like the clunky UI as well.

It’s a shame SDRSharp still doesn’t let you select ANT2 on HF for some reason, a topic on this forum a while ago I believe.

Thankyou again for helping, I’ll test it some more over the next few days.
