I looked inside the 8000 to see how it comes apart, am I correct thinking that the earphone jack needs to be unsoldered to get the middle PC board off?

I do not have it in front of me but I seem to remember that there are 4 screws. 2 longer than the others.
The boards have pins that run between them. remove the 4 screws then gently separate the front from the back. just be gentle they will slip appart. take a moment to observe how well made this radio is. The circuit boards are very nice to look at.

I will say that the stock BnC connector is crap and should be replaced. Its easy. the headphone jack does NOT need to be removed.
Just do it.

AR8000 programming software

Hello all,

I am just getting back into scanning. I have a AR8000 I bought a long time ago.
I did the discriminator mod and have DSDplus working. It works better than my
SDR-RTL setup. It also works better than my Bearcat BCT-7 scanner with a discriminator
mod to it.

Years back I had software to program it. I used to have a program that modded for no 800MHz gap.
I was able to program all the memories too. Since then I have loss all this old software
and have been searching for more current software. Not having much luck and was wondering
if anyone could help. Manual programming is just to painful.

Thanks,
Ken
