ARC 396 Question for Motorola Type II Smartnet and Analog

I have the 396t uniden

And I have a system that is Motorola Type II Smartnet and Analog//.

(its Lee County Florida Public Saftey)

Lee County FL Public Safety Trunking System, Lee County, Florida - Scanner Frequencies

What should I select on the drop down menu or the system type? 800 standard or 800 rebrand? or APCO25?

mot II re banded. you shouldn't have to do ( or change) anything if you are importing from RR.

Thanks when I did Moto to rebrand it changed it to Moto to custom that sound correct

That would be rebanded not rebranded...since you are a subscriber, when you download the system from the web service, the required custom tables for 800 rebanded systems should be automatically set up for you.

There's one additional step you will likely need to do. Unfortunately the 396T often comes with the original firmware which doesn't support rebanding. You will need to update it to get the radio to accept the new bandplan.

It's a bit of a painful process - you must follow the instructions EXACTLY. Do NOT skip any steps!

The XT scanners don't have this particular issue...but the older T models do.

Hopefully your 396T has a firmware version greater than 3.00 - if not, you now know what to do
