I need a little help here. I refuse to pay butel 12.50 to look up a reg code for software that I paid for.

I have two computers with ARC500 on them. One of them is my laptop which I just replaced the hard drive in last week after it crapped the bed, and stupid me I didn't back up anything... is there away on my other computer that I can look up what the key is?

I don't mean to sound ignorant but what "home page" are you referring to?

Nope. I.m trying to find out if there is a way on the other computer I own that has ARC500 to pull the reg key from that so I can re install the software on my laptop. That is what I am asking....

AFAIK, RR has nothing to do with Butel License. Just in case I was wrong, I tried the sequence above, and nothing happened, and it certainly did not result in ACR info.

captclint is correct, the OP is asking about his ARC500 registration keys from Butel software. Those keys are not stored anywhere on Radio Reference, nor do they have anything to do with Radio Reference membership.

Well I don't know.. But here is my E-Mail From RadioReference Support Team for my keys and they ARE in my Account Information under License Keys

Dear RUSTY_SHACKAFORD (xxxxxxx@comcast.net),

Below is the issued license key for the product that you purchased:

Product: PRO-106 / PRO-197 Programming Software

Key 1: xxxxxxxxxxxx
Key 2: xxxx-xxx-xxx

These are your personal license keys, so please make sure you store them in a safe place! You can always retrieve your purchased license keys at the following URL:

Your License Keys

Next Steps

You should have already downloaded and installed the software from the following link:

Radio Shack Software Download

The license key codes listed above must be entered in the ARC/RadioShack scanner software to activate the full version. Follow these steps to activate:
start the Scanner Software by clicking the 'Scanner Software' icon on your desktop
choose your scanner model
click the 'START SOFTWARE' button
the scanner software for the selected scanner will start
once the software is started click HELP in the main menu and then select REGISTER
a new window is shown
enter your license key codes and click OK
close and restart the software
the software is now ready for use
You can also view an online PDF with screenshots of the registration process at the following link:

Scanner Software Registration [PDF]

Sincerely,

RadioReference Support Team

I have no "License Keys" tab after I click on my username here.

Did RR resell Butel software at some time in the past through the RR site?
I sure don't remember them ever doing such but that would be the only way I could see your Butel license keys showing up here as they have nothing to do with one another otherwise.

I'm guessing that's what Rusty_Shackford might be referring to.

I think there is still a link on here somewhere that allows you to purchase the software through RR, or maybe he has the Radio Shack branded version of the ARC500 software.

EDIT: Found the link: http://www.radioreference.com/radioshack/

The OP stated he purchased his software from Butel... and those keys would not be stored here.

That is interesting as I've never seen anyone mention this before.
I see Rusty's screenshot does show a License Key tab so let's see what his answer to your question is.

At the same time, the OPs post made me look and I could not find my key in the registry like I was hoping for. Then I looked for my Butel key file I created a long time ago and it is nowhere to be found!
I guess it must have been lost when I moved to Win7 and finally wiped my old XP drive. I still have my Butel keys on paper as most of their software prints out your license info to the defaul printer at install time. I also have all the keys in my email files which are backed up daily. I guess I need to go through and compile a new Butle license key file!

I thank everyone for trying to help. Looks like I'm just gonna have to fork over the 12.50 to butel to look up my reg keys (whenever they email me back). Apparently the version I have on my XP desktop was licensed to Radio Shack (I think the software was on the disk that came with the programming cable, can't seem to find that disk now) and the version I had on my Windows 7 laptop I purchased through butel. Again everyone thanks for the help.

For now on I'm going to start backing my stuff up, and start saving hard copies of software reg keys.

I solved my issue, I ended up doing one of them trialplay things and got a key that way.
