ARC-500 Software

Hello i just bought a GRE-PSR500 & the ARC-500 software and can someone help me put explain how to control the radio from the pc and connect the usb cable.I use a lot of software for my other radios with no problems but sometimes i get stuck with something that should be easy to do.

With cable plugged into the USB port, look in device manager and find the USB to serial port assigned by your Windows OS by expanding the + next to Ports (COM & LPT).

Run ARC and match this port by clicking on Download, select port then the red X.
Click Virtual button.

Also make sure that you installed the USB cable driver. The scanner comes with a CD-ROM and the USB cable driver can be found on that CD-ROM. This driver must be installed before connecting the cable else ARC500 can't 'talk' with the scanner.
