Good Evening, My name is Mark Griffin. I just received my BCD996p2 Scanner today from Scanner master. I purchased the ARC-XT software and installed in on my Windows 10 computer.. I read the note about the USB driver and installed the driver to the USB cable that came with the radio. The com port on the device manager is 4. And the computer tells me that there are no problems with this.
But for some reason, when I connect the usb cable to the front of my scanner, turn it on, the ARC-XT communications setup does not recognize that the scanner is out there. Plus, there does not seem to be a way to set a com port within the scanner setup itself.
I have sent an email to scanner master asking for their help on this matter. Has anyone else ran into this problem? I did read on the Butel website that with windows 10 it would require the enhanced USB connector. I'm not sure which one was included with the scanner. It is frustrating because I have the systems I want to upload to my scanner yet I can't because the software does not recognize that my scanner even exists. Mark Griffin, KB3Z
