I am really getting frustrated with the new release of ARC433 from Butell.
I have used it in the past with little problem but now it's just plain testing my Patience.
First somehow I lost all the names to the frequencies on the software. No problem since I had a backup. When I loaded the backup it also erased to names only on that list also.
WTF! Then I'm changing some frequencies that have added the 5 to the fourth digit like 154.2575 and when I sort frequencies by # they all delete the forth digit and round down
so 154.2575 is now 154.2550. Is this just a software problem or am i doing something wrong? Any ideas would be helpful,
Thanks Dennis

Does the Pro 433 support the narrow band step size??. Some scanners will round it off to what you described in your message above. It's most likely how the scanner is made & not the software

I tried entering the number 154.2575 into the scanner and it rounded it to 154.2600 but the software took it to 154.2550. So I suppose since there re-banding everything to the fourth digit my scanners will soon be obsolete and worthless. Way to go Radio Shack.

Rebanding has nothing at all to do with the VHF band. What you are thinking about is the narrowbanding (sometimes also known as refarming) of the VHF and UHF spectrum.

As Alabama mentioned, check to see if you can change your step size. If the scanner can do it, but the software can't, then that's a BuTel issue. If the scanner won't do it, the difference would only be noticeable when the signal is weak or marginal. There may be a bit of distortion, but not enough to make the signal unlistenable. It would be helpful to know which scanner you are programming with ARC433 since it handles 3 or 4 of them.

I'm programing a PRO-528 with that program. This would explain the weak signals i get from the local frequencies but able to get strong signals from other county's not using the 4th digit yet.
