I really can't explain it but i forgot how to program my whistler 1040. I can't seem to download only 1 county or state item? When i do & then download a second county & upload it it wipes out what i just uploaded??
Can't seem to change scanlists. It's always on #1. I would appreciate any help. My age is getting to me???

Download all of the data to the software and send all in one batch. Doing them one at a time erases what is already in the radio.

scanlist #1 is the default scanlist and everything will end up there unless you tell it otherwise in the software and dont forget to save the scanlists when you have them set the way you want.

ka3aaa, thanks for the additional info. I have done so many loads that I should have remembered to mention to not make one huge scan list in my post.

If you send all the data at once, how do you choose to split it up into scanlists?
Using the ARC500 software, you assign scan lists to conventional frequencies or talkgroups before uploading to the scanner. When you send a gr5 programming file to the scanner, it overwrites everything in all of the scan lists.

Thanks. appreciate the help, but if i want, say, Essex co. In scanlist 1 & NYSP in scanlist 2, isn't NYSP going to overerite sscanlist 1?? This is driving me crazy & i had programmed this scanner last yr. Now i can't figure it out??

Whichever talkgroups or conventional frequencies you assign to a scan list in ARC500 will be on that scan list in the scanner when you upload to the scanner. Everything in the scanner is overwritten and will be exactly what is programmed in ARC500.

Just tried again. The only thing that works is the last item i put in, but it's not on the default scanlist 1. It's on the correct scanlist # i entered in the software.

If you attach your programming file, I will check it for errors and walk you through the changes you need to make. You will need to right click on the file and Send to Compressed (zipped) folder to be able to attach it. Click on Attach files and Open the zipped folder.

You can not do partial uploads nor add scanlists, this is a limitation of the scanner not the software. To add new data first read from the scanner in the ARC500, then add the new data and upload back again.
To scan items/objects they must be assigned to a scanlist using the scanlist column. In ARC500 you can use scanlist preview so verify your scanlists layout.

The file you sent was a zipped folder within another zipped folder. When I extracted the second folder, it was a shortcut to the ARC500 programming software. I need the gr5 file you uploaded to the scanner. On ARC500, go to the File tab and click on Save As. Give the file a name and save it. It is that gr5 file you just saved that you need to right click on and Send to Compressed (zipped) folder to attach it. Click on Attach files and Open the zipped folder.

Hi Tvengr. just wanted to let you know that i don't see any gr5 files??? Do you use Google Duo? Just food for thought, that way you could see what i'm doing with the software?
