ARC500 with Windows 10

I have the ARC500 and I also have Windows 10. I cant communicate with my scanner and my computer. Will ARC500 work with Windows 10? Is there a solution if it dont work? Im lost. please help thanks...

ARC500 works just fine with Win10.

What scanner are you using? What cable are you using to connect the scanner to your computer?

Do you have the correct drivers loaded for your cable?

A driver is needed to make the USB port appear to be a COM port that the scanner can utilize. Unfortunately you are mixing apples and oranges here, and that may be an issue. The model of the scanner is Whistler; the cable number is Radio Shack, and that SKU comes up nada on their website.

If RS hadn't gotten out of the market, you could download the Win10 drivers you need from their website. Short of someone sending you the necessary drivers, your best bet is to buy the actual Whistler cable (and I'm sure they include a CD or something with drivers), and here's the site;

Pay attention to using the correct version of the driver for Win10 as this OS is very particular about having the correct drivers...Mike

ok, everything I read says to use the 20-546 cable, so you are saying that I should get another cable from Whistler which is different from the cable I bought?
ok I will call them on Tuesday, I looked at all of the drivers to use. The cable supplier said to use CDM21226_setup.exe
i thought I downloaded it, but guess Im making a mistake somewhere.

I looked at the cable and it is different, has a box in the line. so this should work without any driver updat then?
