When trying to detect the bcd436hp using my dell windows 10 laptop usb port it will not see it. I am using ARC 536pro v2.4 build 3. The radio has 1.28.14 firmware. When I use Sentinel v2.02 to connect via usb it works just fine. When I do a serial connection to ARC536pro it works fine too. Mass storage (E) does show up as an external drive on the laptop but ARC536pro does not see it. Here is what I have done so far:

1. tried it on my desktop pc with arc536pro,,,,,,works perfectly
2. switched memory cards,,,no issues detected.
3. changed drive letter of USB port or scanner,,,tried d: e: etc. etc.
4. used different cable
5. deleted all USB ports in device mgr. reinstalled,,,,,no difference
6. the USB ports on my dell lattitude e7440 work fine no matter what I plug into them,,,,except ARC536pro

Thanks folks,
John KB8YTB

The uniden serial driver is installed as I use it all the time in that mode using the ARC software for controlling the unit.

In the read data window double click in the white area next to the yellow Detect Scanner button, that will show two extra options to include drive d: and e: during the detect scanner process, in your case 'include e' is probably deselected:

The serial driver is not used for this operation so not relevant.

This is what my version of Version 2.4 Build 3 shows:

Checking for updates shows that I have the latest version installed, so he may not be seeing the check boxes.

EDIT: Double clicked in the white area and it appeared-this is not a good fix since there's nothing to indicate the necessary steps to make the option visible.

I did check the boxes. I tried naming it drive D, E, G. and it still does not see the radio. Maybe I should try an earlier version or build? I am at a loss as to what is wrong. Thanks,John

Years ago, and obviously before Gommert introduced ARC536 2.4 build 2 to support drive D, I was able to force ARC536 into picking up another drive letter by mapping a network drive in Windows File Explorer to lower letters thereby effectively 'reserving' them. It was crude but it worked.
