Thinking of buying a Macbook but does anyone know if Butel Arc XT works with the Apple software on a Macbook? On a similar note does Home Patrol work with Apple software?

You'll need to run a Windows emulator to use those programs.

I'm using VMWare to run both those programs.

It's a piece of software which will allow you to run Windows on your Mac.

Once Windows is up and running, you can run those particular programs.

I use VMWare on a Mac Pro which allows me to run any Windows programs I might need.

No, Parallels Desktop and VMWare run alongside OSX.

Just google either program and you should find the websites for each company.

You can find out information on Parallels here. I've got to say that I have been running Parallels on my MacBook Pro since I first bought the computer (over 2 years ago) and with the most recent versions (both OSX (Lion) and Parallels 7) I am somewhat dissatisfied with the current performance. It used to be very good prior to the Parallels upgrade.

You should also be aware that your OSX comes with "BootStrap" which will (although you can't run both at the same time) will turn your Mac into a PC. There is sharing across the two systems but you can't run both at the same time. The advantage there, is that is Apple software built into the OS.
