UPDATED .pdf Instructions with pictures

I am posting the latest instructions here. Note the tuning knob showing on the main picture. You can now keep the program running, and switch to the Radio freeing all its buttons, and most importantly the tuning knob. Nothing touches a tuning knob for fine tuning. Just one click to switch to free the receiver, and one click to return to PC control. Lots of other mods in the latest version of the program.
The 'nag' screens, in the trial version, no longer need 'clicking away before you can continue to use the software.

Very nice (and very clever) on that tuning knob improvisation. Will check it out as soon as I get back home to my own radio and computer.

UP AND DOWN keys now will 'repeat' if the mouse is 'right clicked' whilst hovering over the buttons. Can be used with Squelch OFF or ON, but if the latter, program will pause for 10 seconds if a frequency has a signal, giving you chance to just release the mouse button and monitor it. Single step UP / Down with left mouse click.

Also added an audio MUTE button, one click activates, next click and audio back to its previous level.

The latest instructions (attached) reflect the changes made.

I notice Butel's latest version now has SQuelch type when programming memories, very much needed. It does not have a PASS field however.
Do you have both of these planned soon on your version?

Looks like my reply has not shown up, so having another go.

No planning needed, they are both there already, together with all Squelch modes (inl. VSQ), AGC, NR, CTC, and TS. All programmable in real-time as you enter or modify a memory channel.

CTC and TS parameters are programmed individually and stored with the channel.

Download the updated .pdf above. It explains, and there is a screenshot of the MEM-BANK. You will see the extra things that can be programmed bottom left.

Don't download v.5.026 for an hour or so, just made a cosmetic change which I will be uploading any minute.

Bravo bravo on the repeating keys. Even the radio on it's own doesn't do that, and now I can actually sit in front of my computer and tune. Going to manual control over computer control with a single mouseclick of the "tuning dial" in your program is also a very ingenious and handy feature.

Hopefully, within the next four or five days, I will have an opportunity to try to right a more complete overview of the operation of your program, but I'm really impressed with how much you've done with it over the past several weeks.

Well counting me, there are now 2 people who like the program, and yet almost 2000 views in just a few days, with very few comments.

I really thought the proven ability to control the radio remotely from all the devices I mentioned might excite some comment (on the other thread), but how wrong can a programmer be (sigh)?

An hour ago I was sitting in the lounge, with my grandchildren watching the television, as I sat with my Android Tablet, with my program up on its screen in high definition, controlling the AR-DV1 (which was two rooms away), with one finger, and listening to its output.

I can't help but wonder how anyone cannot find that exciting (not me and the kids, the remote control lol), but despite almost begging for comments, only 3 people bothered.

I it was not for a few people here I would be seriously considering giving up, instead of just thinking about it. I even made the trial version much easier to use , but even 'free', judging by the lack of comments I have to assume hardly anyone has bothered trying it.

We've got a couple of guys here in the states, and a few guys in Europe, and maybe one of two in Asia. There might be a lot of governmental agencies using the radio, but I can't believe that the "hobbyist" class is limited to just a dozen or so. Can anyone else here conjecture on why this forum is so relatively quiet?

I know this is a very unique piece of equipment with a very unique following. In terms of your program, I think you are "over the hump", with most of the main developing behind you, and now catching up on honing in those refinements. I think as more and more folks discover your program, there will be more and more saturation. But just like the radio itself, it's going to take time for those techno-geeks and others to discover and appreciate it.

This is a marvelous piece of work. I have played with it off and on for a week as time permits.I still have the initial version installed and very excited with all it does.Going to try the latest version and with all the updates.I am actually still learning the radio itself but your software is making it alot easier to discover it's potential.

DMR Color CODES and other Digital modes

Just a news update.

Regret to say I still have not received any info from AOR re the extra DMR features they mentioned in the 1512 f/w upgrade yet.

So in the meantime I am trying with the limited information they did release.

I have DMR color code selection, and color code muting up and running. There was no info at all on codes for slot selection so I can't get any further with that yet.

If anyone knows the code for slot selection (if it exists yet), please let me know here?

Not until i have done some testing

I see that version 5.031 is still up on your website. I assume that does not incorporate the DMR info yet. When will the DMR version go up? At this point, I don't think there is anyone here that knows more about the programming codes for the radio than you do. So we may have to wait for AOR to release that information. I will say that you've done amazing things with the program over the past several weeks, even without having complete information from AOR at your disposal. Some of your "work-arounds" and extra features are really ingenious.

I will release the next version, with hopefully DMR, P25 and NRDXN additions soon.

Someone mentioned that the BUTEL basic program has fields for the DMR color coding and slots already, but apparently they do not do anything at the moment. Any one else experienced that?

I have several other AOR receivers. I was able to figure out a number of the remote commands, before the official list came out, as they are similar to other AOR receivers.

I do not know if the display of the info on the screen has to be turned on as well. This is similar to how the tones and a few other commands work.

I had the feeling the Slot Control codes might be there somewhere. I spent a couple of hours experimenting, but never got as far as an 'O' prefix, too many other things to do re. the program.

QUICK UPDATE

I have added DMR Color Codes, Slot control and muting , plus P25 and NXDN 'RAN' and 'NAC' selection / muting.

They are now finished, and I am now busy testing the CAT program before sending it to the website.
