I have a Pro-2006 and Pro-2035 in almost pristine condition. I bought them new (1994 I think) and used them for about 6 months and then put them in storage. They both have original boxes & manuals. They both have the "banned coverage" capability, 110V transformer removed to prevent heat damage, A/C adaptors and both have connection for strength meter. I think the Pro-2006 has the backlite mod as well.

I looked on Ebay and they are not selling for much nowadays. Due to the condition and mods what could they be worth?

I also have all 3 of Bill Cheeks Scanner Mod books and all 3 are autographed by him. Are these worth anything nowadays?

Instead of selling those scanners, open your horizons a bit. Put discriminator taps in them, and there are several apps that might interest you. I don't know where you are, but if you're along the coast or a major waterway, you might find AIS of interest. And, of course, there's UniTrunker and DSD.

Both radios could even be used for ACARS without modification. If the fire tone outs aren't cataloged for your area, there's another possible avenue. And I haven't forgotten to mention military air scanning....

The open market will determine what you scanners are worth. Older scanners in good working condition with accessories and documentation usually go for a good price. With auction sites such as eBay one has to remember that potential buyers are turned off by sellers who list their items with a high starting bid whilst others are wary of sellers with low feedback scores and a low starting bid.

You control what you sell so make it appealling and you should get the price you want.

Actually the Pr0-2006's have been going for over $250 on ebay. I bought mine years ago for $50 from a guy who didn't have a clue what it was. They make great military aviation scanners.

Actually the 2006's have been going for the most part for well under $100. Maybe with the Opto board installed, they go for a bit more. I see that the Pro-2035 & Pro-2042 are generally pulling in more $. I have personally purchased both a 2005 & 2006 in the last few months and did not pay more than $60 per, and that included new display, speed mod and squelch mod.

Yes, you can easily find a Pro-200x for under $100 with buy-it-now, although a NIB unit will likely go for more. The last couple of 2006's with Optoscan boards have gone for around $140 on eBay. I bought one with a CE-232 interface for around $80 a few years back. I really don't think they are worth more than this given the direction of VHF/UHF scanning - there is less and less to listen to every year. But, I still enjoy listening to my 2006 and 2035.

I agree. I picked one up in near mint condition for $75 on eBay no too long ago. There were a couple available with "Buy it Now" recently for under $80.

WOW! I can't believe they are going for so little....they were very expensive when they came out (around $400 I think), and add the cost(s) of mods, and now less than $100...such a shame. These are great scanners with lots of mods available to them...

In its prime, the 2006 was the best there was. But that was 20 years ago, and the 2006 is pretty obsolete. It's slow, doesn't have digital capabilities, trunking ability, or text tagging, just to name a few features found in today's scanners. Even the popular mods are pretty much worthless nowadays. It's still a good monitor for aviation and rail listening etc., but as a scanner its best days are gone.
