C-FOPP doesn't show up on Flight Aware or any of those public sites, but they DO transmit ADSB info, you just need to decode it locally.OPP helicopters do NOT show up on ADSB or Flight Radar.
The civil registration for the Ottawa bird will only be known when it is purchased. The OPP have two Airbus EC-135 birds : C-FOPP & C-FOPS. Had them for a few years. They are blocked from the tracking sites for obvious reasons. York Region have a helicopter, not sure of it’s registration (either C-FYRP or C-GYRP) and it’s NavCanada call sign is Air 2. The OPP birds use Air 1. They are rarely deployed together (except for Dougie’s photo op the other day).😉The helicopters often use an ID of 1200. this is a VFR aircraft. I believe that both flight and ADSB do not display this.
My observations with same here in BC for the 7-8 Air RCMP heli's , some days he turns the TP on, some days off , it depends which way the winds blows (insert joke) A local SAR heli right now in Alberta firefighting cause he has night vision. For BC based searches, some days its on (rarely) most time it's off. Other day in Alberta I saw him fighting fires, it was on so go figure, FYIOPP helicopters on ADSB?
