If you are a newcomer, you've come to the right place. Click on the link (anything in blue) below;

Category:Software Applications - The RadioReference Wiki

To read about any of the topics listed there, just click on it. We have several links and help files found nowhere else, such as;

  • the FreeScan User guide, which is freeware for the Uniden DMA Scanners

  • Quick reference charts listing the most popular software for the GRE, RS and Uniden scanners

  • Are you using software that can't directly download from the RR database? If so, and you have Excel or a similar product, you may be able to copy using it as an intermediary. There's an article there that tells you how

  • Did you just get a PRO-96 or PRO-2096 and want to see if it will work in your area even after rebanding? See the Win96 article

  • Looking for software that can record audio? We have several selections

Feel free to look around and ask questions. That's what this article is all about.

Win96 Upgrade

Lindsay indicated that I need to upgrade to some 'upgraded' Win96 software.
Would you please tell me what I need and how to find it?
Used to download, now it doesn't.
An 'XML error message' is all I get now.

There have Been Pro's and Cons of Scanner Software on here for the Pro 106 or Pro 197 Scanners & or their GRE Counter Parts. I now have both Win 500 and Arc 500 and I see the pros and cons of both software pkgs. I think the Win 500 Scanner Control (On your Computer Screen) makes it by far superior to the ARC 500 but I like editing in ARC500 better. Heres my 2 cents worth, How do the rest of you feel?
