Why is the system type of the Arkansas AWIN system P25 X2-TDMA as opposed to P25 Standard or P25 Trunk in the RR database? That is using the HomePatrol Sentinel. It is P25 Trunk in the BCDx36HP Sentinel.

X2-TDMA is a specific protocol developed by Motorola while the P25 phase 2 standards were still being developed.

I am aware of that. Using the RR database, the system type of the AWIN system is P25 X2-TDMA with the HomePatrol Sentinel and P25 Trunk with the BCDx36HP Sentinel. Thanks for your reply. I am thoroughly confused why it is different between Sentinels.

Guessing maybe because uniden doesn't feel the need to differentiate it since the scanner treats it like a P25 p2 system. Here is a 5 year old thread that got about as far.

The same reason it's listed that way for MOSWIN. Have other answers but thinking they wouldn't go over too well on the forum - so will leave it at that...

It's a known bug with HomePatrol Sentinel that doesn't affect BCDx36HP Sentinel. A Uniden bug, to be clear, not an RRDB bug. Obviously the systems are listed correctly here, but for whatever reason HomePatrol Sentinel interprets Phase II systems incorrectly and lists them as X2-TDMA.

We have determined that it doesn't actually make any difference, and that the HomePatrol models will scan Phase II systems just fine even if they are in the software/scanner as X2-TDMA.
