In Russellville I have heard mutual aid fire traffic on VFIRE21 (154.280) CSQ (ie, no tone squelch).

There is the fire TG pool on AWIN which has a TG for each ASP Troop area. The db also lists statewide fire mutual aid analog as 154.280.
True but personally I have never heard any traffic on those fire pool AWIN channels. Maybe they're only used in areas where local county fire departments make use of AWIN such as Garland County.

Probably 90% of AWIN radios don't even have those fire pool channels. They came out in the new ABIT template.

In Garland County here. All VFD operations remain on the respective FD's talkgroup unless in a mutual-aid type scenario then they switch to the respective departments talkgroup they are assisting.

That's how we do it here in Greene County as well, However, we are VHF analog and not AWIN but it still works the same way. We stay on our channel unless giving mutual aid and then we switch to their channels but we don't have a set mutual aid channel.
