Hello my Minnesota friend, I have 3 Radio Shack Pro-96's , they are all programmed the same, The were programmed just after the rebanding was done, radioreference.com, had the new rebanded control channels and alternate channels also, I just programmed them in and in seconds, I was getting everything I had programmed into my 96's. I get Hennepin County everything North South East West and all suburbs, I recieve loud and clear Anoka County everything, except for Drug Force Encrypted frequenceis, I get FANTASTIC Minneapolis Fire, Live action On Scene, I have never missed one, they come in so clear, and I can hear the heavy breathing as the firefighters are knocking the fires down. I get North, HCMC MAIN, I even get North Air Care, the helecoptor, State Highway Patrol West East, St. Paul, and suburbs loud and clear, and all the Tac channels and suburb fire pools, everything, I have to shut down most everything on the weekends and I leave just North Memorial, All Minneapolis Police, and mainly Brooklyn Center, Brooklyn Park, thats were the Action is. when it starts to get a little quite, around 2:30in the AM, I kick in Anoka, But Minneapolis Police, and Fire with North are none stop pen you into the seat action. Its getting worse out there, assualts are bad weekend nights, in the warehouse district, there is action fighting every minute, robbery of person's at gun point in parks streets alleys, shootings beatings it getting nutz out there, and with this scanner hobby, its interesting, I have a Radio Shack 106 programmed to the same groups and frequencies as the Pro-96's, and I have 2 Uniden 396T's so I turn on five handhelds and they are programmed the same, so when say a fire call goes out over Minneapolis Fire Dispatch 1 the Unidens lock on in micro seconds, they give off a High Low signal, then the rest kick in and it sounds like I am standing with 6 Minneapolis Police Officers, I also have a BC996 that I use, Oh by the way, I purchased a Radio Shack amplified speaker from Radio Shack, used a 1/8 to 1/8th stereo 6 inch long cord, and it works well with the Uniden BC 396T, I turrn down the volume to 3, and then plug in the Amped Speaker, man that thing sounds like a 996, it gets up and screams!, so I put a belt clip on the back so I can go out with it, I am using a leather case, I purchased from Scannermaster, it has a locking plate on the back, you put the clip on to your belt, turn the Uniden upside down, and it locks it into place, safest device for one of these $ 500.00 radios, it works great, it is not coming of, I highly recommend them to all Uniden users it works well with the new 396XT about $ 29.95, I hope some of this information will help,.
