Just a reminder about the VHF contest this weekend. It started a while ago and there's still plenty of time today and tomorrow. Even if only using FM gear, there's plenty of fun to be had. Also, for those that RX only, you may want to dial up the following frequencies and have a listen. For this contest people are transmitting simplex, no repeaters. See how far you can RX.
Mode: FM
52.525
146.520
223.500
446.000
927.500
1294.500
The exchange is their respective call sign and their grid square. The grid square basically gives others an idea of where you are. They will provide four characters for this contest. An example is CM86 which you may hear spoken phonetically as Charlie Mike 86 or both.
