Someone suggested the library. Check your local library system for any amateur radio study material. Even if it's out dated, there will still be useful information. Like the one person said, you can actually just keep taking all of the different practice exams and learn all of the question/answers. Once you're making consistant 80% or higher passing grades on the online tests, you should be ready for the real thing.
I had the ARRL General class exam book, and maybe I cracked it 3 or 4 times. I devoted most of my time on the QRZ and eham online practice tests. I would take all of the available exams for General and when I was making 80% or higher, I went to take the real thing, and passed with a 100% passing score. Having the book is nice, its good to have it so you actually can read and understand WHY the answers are the answers to those questions, but for the practical taking of the test, its a lot quicker to just keep taking the practice exams and remember the answers. Then you can always go back and read WHY E=I over R, or 492 devided by f. in mhz = 1/2 wave lenght.
