ARVADA (MyFOXColorado) - A firefighter was injured while fighting a fire early Wednesday.

It happened at about 1:40 a.m. at a house in the 14000 block of West 57th Place in Arvada, in a fairly new neighborhood.

When firefighters arrived, lots of smoke and fire were coming from the first floor and basement.

Emergency crews found one person in the front yard of the house. Investigators say it was the homeowner, and he went to the hospital for observation.

Firefighters say they were able to put out the flames quickly, but there was smoke and heat damage throughout the house.

One of the firefighters also went to the hospital. He reportedly fell on his air-pack, which injured his back.

No word on how much the damage will cost to repair, or whether the house will be a total loss.
