Has there been any changes to the Ascension Parish Public Safety system. I am monitoring them and there id's are different than whats listed. One of them is 16 (not state troop A) and another is 112. These are not in the list. The cc is 867.8750. I do not find this freq in the database anywhere. Ascension apears to be the only user for this freq. The sysid is C233h. I cannot find any other system with this id. According to the database the sysid should be 7421. Does anyone have any knowledge on this.

Some changes have taken place but I don't have any details. I posted this story in my Scan Baton Rouge Yahoo Group-

Fire Department upgrades radio system

Advocate staff report
Published: May 31, 2006

The Gonzales Fire Department upgraded its radio system to be compatible with local law enforcement and the statewide emergency communications plan.

Fire Chief Butch Browning said the new 800/700 megahertz radio system was paid for through a federal grant from the U.S. Fire Administration..

Browning said before the upgrade, serious breakdowns in transmitting critical information between other emergency responders contributed to less than the best incident management at times.

The experiences during the 2005 hurricane season demonstrated the immediate need to talk not only with local agencies but with departments from all across the southern region, Browning said.

“We can now better coordinate emergency operations and assure the best and quickest use of our resources,” Browning said in a news release. “The challenge of communications interoperability has plagued public safety agencies for decades. This technology can give first responders and public safety agencies the ability to exchange voice and data on demand, in real time, when needed.”

Mayor Johnny Berthelot commended Sheriff Jeff Wiley and his communications personnel for designing a system that can handle the capacity of the fire service.

The Parish has always made it clear that they intend to join the LATIE system when it becomes operational. I never heard GFD on the FDs LTR system. I hear everyone else (praireville FD, SorrentoFD, etc) but the word I got was that GFD was renting space on a commercial system and using radios they rented from a radio service. I never did find them. It's good to finally hear them again.
Cross posting from my Yahoo Group here's my reply to someone wondering why the ASO has been silent all day.
-------------------------
They are still analog but they have changed up their talkgroups.
I still haven't IDed all the new ones yet but listening for a short time I hear ...
16- ASO main channel for eastside units.
48- ASO Tac channel
1328- Gonzo PD main channel. Hear them working a wreck on Hwy 44 right now.
1456- GonzoFD channel. Hear them going to the same wreck as above from Station 10.
Seems like it may be time to reprogram the scan lists in our trunktrackers. Since I havn't bought a digital scanner yet, such as the Uniden 396, I haven't had the chance to check out what's happening on LATIE.

I heard quite a bit of testing activity yesterday on one of the published CC frequencies, 868.4125, and it was a talkgroup ID I have never seen before, 33328. They kept doing 5 counts on say, "Channel 5". Then they would do one on "Channel 6, "Channel 7" "Channel 8" etc. etc. What are these channels they are referring to? Are these channels on the new LATIE system? Thanks in advance for any input anyone can provide!
