Ashtabula County approves sheriff’s department radio purchase

JEFFERSON, Ohio — Ashtabula County Sheriff William Johnson calls the county’s lease-purchase a new $275,000 radio system for his department a “big plus.”

County commissioners approved an agreement with Motorola Inc. of Schaumberg, Ill., Tuesday to acquire the multiagency radio communications system (MARCS).

Looks like it will be in place at the end ofthe month. If I listen to the Cherry Valley MARCS tower, will I hear the sheriff but just not know the talkgroups?
