Ashtabula County OSP POST 4

Was wondering where did Post-4 go, Ashtabula County? :shock:

They are not on the low band 44.820 or 44.980 or others.

I have the MARCS freq's in for Ashtabula and the ID's with Win95 program into my RS Pro-95. Not sure if I have them correct, I've been scanning since the 1980's but a newbie to trunking. Been reading about the trunk system and "kinda" getting to understand it, comes down to understanding how program the Pro-95 with Win95 :roll: .

Guess I need some help, if someone could tell me if I got this right in Win95 program.

All Ashtabula Freq's that I could find programmed in.
Should they be "Open or Closed"? I Set as open for now.
Type set for "Mot", each CH. set as "Mot"
Fleet Map 0-7 set as "Type II" should "Presets" be set?
I used #0 sub-bank (of 0-4) to set the Alpha Tag and ID, using all 19 for Ashtabula.

Should I use a "Base Freq, Offset and Step Size" here?

Asking a lot, I know, just need to be showed once. Over the last few weeks been searching for help in the Win95 program and trying to understand how to program the trunked part.
If someone could explain the above or send me a "link" that I can check out, sure would be helpful.

MARCS is a digital system.The PRO-95 won't receive such transmissions.Try a PRO-96

Sell the Pro-95, and get a Pro-96 or Uniden xxxx?
I have an 18ch Bearcat 210xl, is my first scanner, 1984, still going strong.

What's a nice Uniden model?

Your 2 Uniden Choices are:

BC-296D- hand held

BC-796-base

Both run around the 500$ range...

I have a Pro-95 and a Pro 96 and i would personally recomend the 96. Excellent scanner. 8)

Also if you purchase a digital scanner you should also be able to hear Lake County which is digital. I personally prefer the Pro 96 but the Uniden is also a good scanner. When I drive through Ashtabula on my way to Erie I can hear Geagua (Analog), Lake, Ashtabula, MARCS and Erie while on I-90 on my Pro 96.

Heck, when I'm visiting friends in Ashtabula, I can pick up Lake County, Geauga County, CEI, parts of Erie County, PA, parts of Trumbull County, etc... with just the stock duck antenna. I'll have to throw in some Canada channels, soon, as well.

Well, eithor the Pro-96 or a one of the Uniden, have to see what I can find on Ebay or maybe here. I'll have to sell the Pro-95 and some other stuff so I don't have to dip in the checking account The wife might scan me right out the door. :roll:

Good idea throwing in Canada channels. Never thought about that. Speaking of Ashtabula, I got religion driving I-90 in the winter time while working in Ashtabula and living in Chagrin Falls.

I recall last summer being in a few places in Willoughby & near Concord Fire Station Number 1 and picking up Canada stuff like it was right here. Bouncing across Lake Erie like nobody's business
