I see that the troopers sometimes have to hold their radios high into the air while speaking into their shoulder mic. My question is; when they're on ATV's in a rural village how does their radio get out to hit the repeater in such a place? I doubt the ATV's have radios for a repeater on them?

Also, their VHF antenna's look much longer than the standard VHF antenna!
