Astro saber

Good morning
I have an Astro saber portable, after keying up to talk and release ptt I get the low battery signal without low battery icon . I am using brand new batteries. Anyone have ideas on what the problem is and how to correct it ?

Are they OEM, or after-market batteries? I had a Honeywell battery back in the day that would always beep low-battery. It didn't provide the proper voltage, though the capacity was just fine.

thanks , they are aftermarket 2700 mha batteries. I will see if I can find oem batteries

+1 on the above answer. I had this issue with a non OEM battery bought off of an online auction site. I needed a physically smaller battery for use in an XTVA adapter.

There must be a batch of batteries out there like this.
These are great radios though, so it is worth it to have battery cells replaced or rebuilt when they fail.

I had a similar problem years ago with W&W batteries. I have used many aftermarket batteries, & they all worked well, but the W&W were absolute junk. What brand are they?

Except for one radio (which is in an AVA) all of my Astro Sabers run the Li-on batteries from Power Products.

I had a Power Products short Lion, and I had nothing but problems with those batteries. The Honeywell's seem to work pretty good.

I haven't had any problems using them in my IMPRES WLPN4114's

any particular SW version I should look for? Does this require an insert for any of the batteries?

A charger's FW really only counts in Impres chargers. 3.4, or greater. 3.11 is the most recent.
