Asus Chromebox Review - Watch CNET's Video Review

I am a Windows XP/7 guy currently, but I was reading about the ASUS Chromebox. While I am assuming that no scanner software currently available will run on Chrome OS, would this be a good platform for scanner programming and control? With a price of $179, this would seem to be a great bare bones computer for some radio related tasks. Or, is the likelihood of that ever happening about as likely as Apple scanner software?

Look into Crouton. Chrome OS Crouton in Google.

If Ubuntu (or Linux in general) has anyhting for your scanner any Chrome OS device can be a very capable cheap purchase.

I own 2 Chromebooks.
