Athens PD dispatch, 151.1000, is now digital and from what I can tell 100% encrypted. At least with the voice inversion they did not have everyone on it and I could pick up 1/4-1/2 of what was going on in my city, now I have nothing.

Just kind of blows your mind! Spend the $500.00 for a digital scanner and then folks go encripted, and nothing you can do about it!

Yeah, tell me about it. Hopefully McMinn County SO and the surrounding SOs and PDs will not do the same when the TVRS is up and running 100%.

Looks like Athens PD got a "Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant" in the amount of $21,468 for "P25 Narrow Band Radio Equipment".

No they are not 100%, I just heard a unit go 10-8 in P-25 Unencrypted. So not all is lost...
