I am receiving as a wildcard, talkgroup 14141. It is encrypted on the mobile side and unencrypted on the dispatcher side. Because of the partial encryption, it is a bit hard the figure out what this talkgroup is but it sounds like it might be used as a traffic stop talkgroup. Can anybody confirm this? It is not listed in the DB.

Thank you. I hated that system, everything came and so garbled for some reason.

That is the ACPD Admin talkgroup, which is used for lookups. Dispatcher may have switched off encryption on their side for some reason.

That system had been depreciated a while ago. Atlantic City now uses the County Harris P25 system.
I know they are encrypted . I looked in the RR data base under the Alantic city there is a link that allows you to listen to police dispatch just curious how this is done

My reply was to the user that referenced the old Smartnet system in Post # 2

I believe that Joe is saying that the system you posted is the old Motorola Type II SmartZone Atlantic City System.

I also believe that what you are saying is that TG 14102 is an encrypted TG but there is a link to Broadcastify to a feed for that TG. For that I have no answer.

Hi Joe. Were you a posting member of the old phl.scanner newsgroup back in the 90's? I know your name from somewhere and I think that may be where.

Joe was PhillyScanner. He created the scanner guide I happily purchased long ago but still use.

To resurrect this thread from two weeks ago, 14102, listed as Atlantic City PD is not fully encrypted. I've heard a number of dispatches on the TG.
They just dispatched for a group of juveniles spray painting. I've never heard any cruisers in the clear, but, the dispatch side is definitely in the clear as of now. This is now on several hours of monitoring the trunk.

The reason the consoles are in the clear is because of the dispatcher working is not paying attention to the encryption button on the console. Yes the console operator has the ability to turn on and off the service.

I have been listening the past couple of days and it seems as though TG 14102 is back to full encryption.

As @X9009X pointed out, the dispatchers have the ability to disable encryption. Because it's not strapped and because it has been in the clear, the RR function display for encryption is correctly set to partial encryption (De)
