Most of the Fire/EMS agencies seem to be in favor of a county-wide consolidation, at least from what I was able to read in the reports.

Don't hold your breath. Too many local politicians want to control jobs. Besides if consolidation ever did take place it might really lower taxes. When was the last time that happened?
