My curiosity finally got the best of me & I spent $65 to get a ATS Mini V4 SDR radio after watching dozens of YouTube videos praising its abilities. It does surprisingly well on 20m, 40m USB & LSB and the commercial FM band. Shortwave isn’t too bad with a decent outside antenna. The supplied antennas work well on strong signals. What is a big disappointment is the MW band. It mainly picks up the local AM stations but right across the band there is a loud squealing sound and very poor reception. I’m wondering if there are any other owners of a Mini V4 here that tried the AM band out on the unit & what your experience was.
I know there are firmware updates for this model but don’t know if this will fix it or maybe there’s a possibility that I got a defective unit
