Effective tomorrow morning, Monday June 1st @ 8am; all LMFD companies will switch radio communications to the county 800MHz radio system. This means the following;
All communication between the fire companies & the county will be done on 800 MHz region 4, or what ever region or event channel the county assigns for the call.
Dispatch will still be with tone & voice on the same frequency we currently are dispatched on. However you will no longer hear the fire apparatus or chiefs response communications as you do now.
The county will broadcast important information across the pager such as working fire, reduce speed, & recall all units.
Lower Merion is currently working on a plan to rebroadcast the event channel to the current pager frequency.
