Mr. UniTrunker, I think your name is Rick:

I have tried numerous times to get your software to work on a few of the systems in my area.

I hooked it up again and wanted to see if it would work. I first got it to work without any problems on our provincial system below. I can get your program to work on many towers up to about 40 miles away, I get a good signal on my Pro 2045 tapped scanner.

Here is the system
Bell Fleetnet - Ontario Provincial Government Zone 1 Trunking System, Southwest Zone, Ontario - Scanner Frequencies

In our region (county), there is a new P25 system up and running, it is a APCO 25 system
Halton Region (Project 25) Trunking System, Halton Region, Ontario - Scanner Frequencies

The tower is close by, I can easily follow it on my Home Patrol (not extreme) scanner but when I feed the signal from my PRO 2045 to your program I get no signal i.e. health is 0.

I am going to try to attach some screen shots.

The first one is called Uni Trunker on Motorola System Charlton> As you can see, it works great!

The second attachement is what the screen looks like when I try to get it to "hear" a control channel for the new APCO P25 system.

It is called "Unitrunker trying to run on a APCO P25 system.

There is a good chance that I am doing something wrong, I have absolutely no tech schills but I dont know why when I start your program, and use one of the control channels for our provincial system it works great but when I supply the program with a P25 control channel, no go. It also wont work on a EDACS system that is line of sight from me.

Look, I would really appreciate any help you can provide for me.

Thanks

Rick

Hi Eric;

FYI - when taking screenshots - you can use Alt + PrtSc to capture the active window instead of the whole desktop.

Motorola and EDACS signals are simple two level waveforms - square wave pulse trains with rounded corners. You can decode these from an overdriven signal and still get good results.

P25 can be one of two waveforms. CQPSK is a stream of cosine arcs where each arc is one of two polarities and one of two amplitudes. C4FM is very wavy. If either of these is overdriven - you loose information.

Read the "level up" document and use the built-in scope window - or a separate oscilloscope program to see the waveform. You want a waveform that fills the 'scope window without clipping.

Thanks for responding. I don't know exactly what you are saying but when I have a chance I will look into what you are saying and see if I can do anything to make it work. I am sorry but tech stuff is way above me.
