Some time back, the NJ Attorney General obtained two licenses to be used for counter-terrorism interoperability - in this case, to be implemented for North Eastern New Jersey. Since Thursday's Incident in London, one of these frequencies has become quite active:

470.2375 with a PL of 186.2

Activity seems to focus on law enforcement personnel riding the trains to and from NYC. This activity also seems pursuant to the Joint Resolution from NY and NJ Governors regarding police powers for officers outside of their normal jurisdiction. Base uses an identifier of "RDF" and there is also a Command Post site (Liberty State Park or Cavens Point?) along with chatter from officers in the field. Communications are in the clear and analog and so far, quite routine.

The other frequency of 470.0875 remains inactive so far.

Yes, it is repeated; there are several towers, one located in Essex County, and the other one in Cranford Twp, Union Co. (at least the last time I checked w/ the FCC licensed tower locations). I hear it w/ full towers here in Edison and in Old Bridge. Hope this helps you out.

I heard 470.2375 in Ledgewood on Rt. 46 in my car w/ my BC296D so chances are depending on your physical location, you will heard them. Kind of hard out in this part of Morris County with all the hills and valleys.

I live 2 miles from the NJSP Netcong barracks and can barely pick them up from my home due to Mooney Mountain, then again I really need to put a antenna up on the roof but that's a topic for a different thread!
