Evening everyone,

It’s been a while since I was here and have only recently gotten back to monitoring law enforcement and other emergency frequencies although I’ve had two scanners that have been on constantly for 8 or 9 years. I’m in Auburn and while I can easily pick up Macon, Lee and often Chambers county agencies, Auburn has disappeared. The police were on 155.61 for years and I recall hearing they were going to a new system around 2014 or so. I haven’t heard a peep in some time. There’s a lot of traffic I can hear on game days from the stadium but that’s it. I don’t hear ALEA much either though I was able to hear them as far away as Birmingham and Dothan a few years back. A local amateur tells me he thinks all the Auburn agencies have gone encrypted, could this be the case? The fire chief told me digital was too expensive to consider a change but he’s not the chief any longer. It doesn’t really matter but I’d like to find them again if encryption is not the case. Ideas.
