So I have my 436 beside my 536 and i've noticed something. The audio on the 436 stays constant on the same active talk group while the 536 the audio will stop, but it will still show as an active talk group and come back in.

They are programmed exactly the same. on a 470 Mhz P25 Phase 1 system.

Another thing is that it seems like to me the 436 finds and locks onto an active talk group quicker.

The scanner is receiving several sites all at once and over loads the scanner.

There's a lot of reason's for this, below are a few to start with.

turning on the attenuation for that channel only, will reduce The sensitivity, Could help in the scanner overloading on the multiple sites. Also using a outdoor antenna can also add to the problem.

Scanner A Vs. Scanner B Vs. Scanner C, all scanners all have different sensitivity levels.

Time of day, as peak hours with all sites are very busy, Dog catcher - Garbage dept - Utility dept, all talking at once, to off peak hours where the sites are non active.

You could google this and find many treads on scanner simulcast issues.

Below is a link on the Attenuation instructions
