Audio drops in NJSP "B"

Am I experiencing an audio drop? I am receiving all transmitions loud and clear and then it skips a transmition like it wasn't said by the trooper. Sometimes the talkgroup locks in and blinks on and off but there is no signal and no audio. When I click the ATT button on my Pro-97 I can hear the audio but scratchy. If I wouldn't click the ATT button at the time, the transmition would be skipped and I would not hear it at all. This happens occasionally. Is this an audio drop I've heard that happens on the NJSP system? Thanks..

I've got to be honest with you. I never have problems with the NJSP system.

Granted, i'm less than a mile from the Netcong Tower.

I did hear radio repair the other day driving around checking the signal in Warren County...so who knows if its all related.

Also, another new Digital Talkgroup popped up. 41072. I haven't really had a chance to figure out who's on this yet.

Drops & Digital too

I have heard occasional drops of the ENTIRE system for a second or two . I have heard this very randomly from the site in eastern somerset cty.I do not know if it is the microwave backbone or not,but it seems as if it could be. I too noted new digital TG one afternoon this week. The site in Somerset County has been updated for sure and I was near West Orange when I heard P25. So it sounds as if the infrastructure is well along. My .02 on P25 is that on the fringes and in high noise areas,it performs poorly. Can't get used to the FLAT audio either.

Sorry for a NOOB question ---- P25 for NJSP? Does this mean all of the talkgroups I now have entered into my scanner (PRO-2096) are not going to work anymore?

A lot of the problems are terrain related and according to the FCC database are outputting 70W. Even the troopers have trouble.

The atmosphere may play a role. For me, one day it's crystal clear next day or even the same day it's static.
