Thanks for hosting that. I've since then gone to the Rat Shack outlet (which is closing...awesome deals) and bolted a rather large vertical outside a window, 2nd story. Should be able to get some crystal clear audio now.

I'll fire it off to you as soon as they pass over and I can get it.

I thought that the shuttle only used the UHF freqs for a brief time before entering orbit. Is there some comms that can be heard as they pass overhead. Many years ago I heard some EVA's.

That is correct - they only use it for about 15 minutes.

You can hear EVA's as they pass over, but that's it.

I just wanted to add that for those in Florida, the NI4CE Repeater group over there will be rebroadcasting launch, AND LANDING (Recovery) of the shuttle.
