I'm attempting to connect an audio bluetooth to an audio ear piece and plug it in to the audio plug on top of the radio. The dongle has a stereo plug and when I do get it connected, the audio is weak and garbled. Is the plug on top of the radio set up for a monaural or stereo plug? I've never had a problem with a head set I use but can't seem to get clear audio through the dongle... Any ideas? A friend who uses one of these on a Uniden radio gets clear audio. Thanks!

The male plug is stereo. I use one on the PSR 800 and have no problems.

Try using a mono cable or a mono to stereo adapter on the scanner end of a stereo cable. This should correct the problem. The PSR-500/600 audio jacks from what I understand do not use the standard pinout.
