I have a large police incident recorded on my TRX and wish to save it to my hard drive. However, due to the way the scanner archives these recordings, the incident is split into about 30 different audio files.

Is there a way to aggregate all these files to create one audio file?

Thanks in advance

Yes, pull the micro sd card out, put in your computer, make a folder on your computer for the incident, go to the recording folder ( you can play them in windows) and put the recordings you want into the folder you made.

I use this:
SoX - Sound eXchange | HomePage

Once installed, you can run it against a folder/list of files (*.au) and create a single output file.

I use Audacity .. it works well.

Audacity

Steps for use are below if someone is interested.
From within Audacity do the following

- file / import audio and select all desired files for incident
- edit / select all
- tracks / align tracks end to end
- file / export audio

I recommend something like mp3 and 16 kbps as that is a good mix re file size and quality.
