Depends on a lot of things. If it is Uniden and phase 1 or Motorola it will probably not record, just like it won't play.
If it is Uniden and a x36 radio or Home Patrol and the transmission is phase 2, it will record all, just like it would play all (jiberish encoded noise).
Not as sure about GRE, Whistler, Radio Shack, but I think the phase 1 or Motorola would be the same.
