I have not be able to pick up any traffic on Augusta/Richmond Co have they changed anything that I may not be aware off? That's the problem with traveling! I tried everything even reprogramed my scanner with the freqs that is in RR but with no results.

I was in Augusta last week and picked up August-RC Fire using the freqs and talkgroups exactly as they are on RR for the Palmetto 800 system. Be sure you have ALL the towers that cover that area. Can't remember for sure but I think there may be 3? Don't forget the Blythe tower.

The data in the RR database IS current. Double check all your settings, etc. on your scanner to make sure all is right. What scanner are you using? If you have a GRE PSR 500/600 I may be able to try and send you a file.

Our shop just issued some new XTS5000R's to the fire department in preparation for re-banding. The S.O. got new radios almost 18(?) months ago. As far as I know re-banding hasn't begun yet in our area. Any questions send me a PM and I'll try to help ya out.

I am VERY interested in the Re-Banding schedule for Richmond County - that means I will have to upgrade the Firmware in my 396.

Last week I was having no problem receiving traffic but Monday and still today I am not picking anything up. I have a Pro 97. You mention something about re-banding would you please go into more detail.

This link http://www.wpascanner.com/wiki/index.php?title=800Reband should give you an idea of what Rebanding is, but that is probably not the cause of your current problem because it would affect my 396 too.

Thanks for the link. Well I guess it is time for me to update to a digital scanner, a lot of places I go have gone digital and now that RC is re-banding; that would take care of two problems re-banding and digital. Any suggestions on which scanner?

I have the BCD396T - Uniden is about to release a new BCD396XT.
GRE has a similar scanner.

You really need to read the RR Forums to see the differences. Make sure that your new scanner can be rebanded.

Richmond County re-banding is upon us. I've been programming new XTS 2500, XTS 5000R, and XTL 2500 radios for the county for the past few days, they have just over 600 radios waiting to go to the field. I'll post any new info to the database if there is any.

Jacob.... double and triple check your PRO-97 settings, etc., I'm using mine at the moment and it's working perfectly on the Palmetto 800 system. Scanning S.O. and F.D. at the moment....

Thanks, I ended up having to clear everything out of the scanner and reprogram everything but things are working great. Now I want a digital scanner.
