• Effective immediately we will be deleting, without notice, any negative threads or posts that deal with the use of encryption and streaming of scanner audio.

We've noticed a huge increase in rants and negative posts that revolve around agencies going to encryption due to the broadcasting of scanner audio on the internet. It's now worn out and continues to be the same recycled rants. These rants hijack the threads and derail the conversation. They no longer have a place anywhere on this forum other than in the designated threads in the Rants forum in the Tavern.

If you violate these guidelines your post will be deleted without notice and an infraction will be issued. We are not against discussion of this issue. You just need to do it in the right place. For example:

Motorcyclist killed after collision with SUV

AURORA - Tuesday's evening commute was reduced to a standstill on Parker Road following a fatal accident involving a motorcycle and a large SUV.

According to police, witnesses said Francis Gay, a 25-year-old from Denver, was riding a Suzuki Motorcyle at what may have been excessive speeds, and made an improper lane change. Gay's motorcycle then struck the rear passenger-side wheel of a Chevrolet Tahoe, police said.

Thomas Bayer, Jr., a 67-year-old from Aurora, was driving his Tahoe south on Parker Road, attempting to make a left turn onto Whitaker Place, when the motorcycle struck his SUV, officials said. The closest major intersection to the accident was Parker Road and E. Belleview Avenue.

Despite wearing a helmet and the required eye protection, Gay was severely injured and transported to Swedish Hospital where he later died from his injuries, police said. However, neither Bayer, Jr. or his passenger were injured, officials said.

Officials were forced to shut down northbound Parker Road in order to investigate, but have not filed any charges at this time. There was no evidence of drug or alcohol use found at the scene and police said they are continuing to investigate the fatal accident.
