There was an all-station announcement this morning at 0600 stating that "for the next hour" there would be radio-testing, and that all calls would be dispatched without the normal warble and warning alerts, the units were to acknowledge the calls on AFD Dispatch, and respond on TAC-2. No info was given about the type of testing, or its purpose.

Regards,

Mike

FWIW units in the field on AFD Dispatch are pro-voice.

Phil.

Ya, I don't know why they have the radios programed the way they do. Why PV on dispatch, and analog on the rest of the TG's, besides Admin.

Is this something new?? I was hearing AFD last week just fine...

No, they have been PV on Dispatch for as long as I can remember. When you hear the units, its on the TAC channels where most of the action is anyways.
