AURORA - Sixteen people were forced out of their homes Wednesday when a fire broke out in an apartment building.
The fire at 1715 Chester St. started around 5:30 p.m.
The Aurora Fire Department says crews battled heavy flames and smoke that was in the unit at one end of the four-story building. That unit was empty, but residents in the rest of the building were displaced because the power was shut off to the other five units.
Investigators have contacted three juveniles who admitted setting the fire with a lighter.
The American Red Cross is helping the eight adults and eight children who were displaced.
No one was injured by the fire.
