AURORA – An arguing couple in a stolen truck led police on a chase that ended in a crash Tuesday afternoon.
Aurora Police say the couple was driving on I-225 and could visibly be seen arguing. A police officer ran the Texas plates on their truck and it came back stolen.
When the officer tried to pull the truck over, the driver sped away and exited the highway onto Iliff Avenue. Once on Iliff, the truck smashed into two other cars, swerved, lost control and slammed into a tree near Iliff and Havana.
Police have not released the identities of the couple.
The woman is being held at the Aurora Jail. The man was taken to a nearby hospital for his injuries.
No one was injured in the cars that were hit by the truck.
Police say charges are still pending in the investigation.
