AURORA – Police are investigating after a man in his 20s was found shot in the head in an apartment complex parking lot on Monday night.

Aurora Police say the man was found just after 6:30 p.m. and was taken to the hospital where he died.

Police say the shooting happened in a parking lot near the east side of the Cherry Grove East Apartments at 1st Avenue and Sable Boulevard.

Police are still trying to determine the man's identity and the coroner plans to perform an autopsy on Tuesday.

Police shut down Sable on Monday night and planned to keep it closed into early Tuesday morning between Alameda Avenue and 4th Avenue.

According to investigators, the victim was found next to a dark Cadillac that police say may be linked to the case.
