I've noticed some (not all) of the repeaters on the Aurora TRS are extremely weak here in Area-11 (Havana & Iliff area). Units in the field are complaining of this as well. "CC scan" has been reported by some units. I personally suspect the simulcast is not working on all repeaters. Here are a few freqs I've noted to be weak down south where I am:

858.9625
857.9375
859.9375
856.9625

Just heard PD dispatch advise the units they are switching to the "alternate radio system, and the tac channels will not be available" . . not sure what that means exactly.

Update- Aurora is on an "alternative radio system" - we're back to full signal strength.. dispatch is obviously using a different console than the primary system. This backup system seems to be using the same LCN ordering as I'm not missing any replies.. so far only hearing APD DISP-2 & the FD tac-channels, no west-side (APD DISP-1) traffic heard in the past 10 minutes or so though. This must be a totally separate EDACs network as the audio of the field-units through the repeaters is not modulated as loudly as the primary system.

System appears to be in failsoft mode and possibly running single site. I'm not getting the usual signal collisions from multiple sites that I normally get up here.

So this is probably a stupid question, but I'll ask it anyway ;). How does something like this affect MDT's? Can calls still be sent through the MDT's with no problem? Or does this affect ONLY radios/channel availability. Again, stupid question, but a question none the less!

I believe Aurora still uses air cards on their MDC's.

As of the time of this post the system IS in failsoft confirmed by unitrunker and AFD Dispatch TG is showing up with dispatchers in pro-voice as well. Fire tac's and APD are analog.

Techs were working on the system today. I am not sure what they were doing, but they were all over the smoky hill site today.

As for the mdc. I think they still use verizon data for the mdc's so it is not part of the edacs system. I could be wrong, but I think they are still on verizon.
